7:17:06 // Shit is Hectic, Son.

- Added more shows. We are now booking shows for the end of Summer through Fall. Check back very soon, we'll probably have more by the time I'm updating this. Check our myspace for the very latest on shows.

- Speaking of, we re-did our entire MySpace layout. Currently, you can download 3 of our songs from "Most People Just Die" off our profile. On July 26, we'll be posting the new demo mp3, "Ring the Bell Apollo." We finished work on it as of yesterday, we even got a few decent sounding live songs recorded too... No word on if we're doing anything with those, though.

Now is kind of a crazy time for WCR... we've been super busy, and we're working on a number of new developments. All I can really say is check back with us frequently to hear the latest. -[two], wcr.

7:10:06 // All Apollogies

If you haven't heard already, we recorded a brand new demo track called "Ring the Bell Apollo." The music was recorded live at the Jam Spot during a recent show there, and the vocals were tracked at DiNitwit's house. It's enough to give you an idea of how the new stuff is sounding. The premiere will be on July 26, you can hear it on our myspace page, or listen in to Strongarm Radio that night. Check our shows section for more info.

Also, I can't go into too much detail about our new CD, but I can say it IS happening, that there will be 10 songs, and we are tentatively planning to begin recording in September. Seacrest out. [two], wcr.

6:26:06 // Ding, ding.

- Added more shows.
- We are going to be releasing a demo recording of our new song, "Ring the Bell Apollo." We will record it with DiNitwit sometime in July.
[two], wcr.

6:16:06 // We're Back At It Again

Hey, there haven't been too many updates lately because for some reason, my internet connection in my apartment is a little dodgy. Anyway, I wanted to stop in and update today, because we just added a shitload of new shows, with as much info as we have on them.

Today is our first show in a month and a half, and according to our records, is the first time we've played the Compound since December 2005... huhhhhnnnghh. Additionally, tonight is Josh's first show w/ us on the bass, so make sure to come check it out if you're in the area.
-Mark [two].

5:25:06 // New Bassist Announced

We'd like to welcome bassist Josh Thibodeau as the newest member of Within Choking Range. His first show will be on June 17 at the QVCC in Worcester MA (w/ With No Remorse, Eva Braun & more). (Josh's first show will now be on June 16, his next will be on the 17th). We will not be performing on June 10 as previously reported. Oh well.

We are still adding new shows, writing new material, and have returned to kicking ass in general. Check back again soon.
<3's,
-Mark[two]

5:10:06 // &$^#*(@!

Our "Twin Terrors" show was a success... to the bands, and to everybody who helped out, thank you so much.

WCR will be performing with a replacement bassist until further notice. His first appearance will be on June 10 in North Adams, MA. WCR is also writing to go back into the studio in the coming months. We ain't dead yet motherfuckers. -mark[two], wcr.

4:28:06 // You're Cancelled!

The gig @ the Compound w/ All-In & Skulltoboggan on June 17 is no more. That shit is cancelled.

This summer, we shall reign as weekend warriors. We are seeking to set up shows for summer right now so we'll post those soon.

Next Friday is going to be a huge event presented by Beserkfaced Productions. Spend Cinco de Mayo w/ us and Mouth Sewn Shut (ex-Toxic Narcotic), With No Remorse, Last Chance to Reason, The Bloodening and Fear Nothing (formerly Corporal Mortification/ADR). You may not have known this, but May marks the 2 year anniversary of WCR's existence. All the more reason to party.

We are still seeking a bassist meeting the following criteria:
  • Has a job
  • Has a car
  • Has their own gear
  • Digs our sound
  • Likes to play shows, frequently
  • Lives locally
  • And can practice 2-3 times per week

If you're interested please contact us ASAP, and we'll set something up. It would help greatly if you are able to play "Dead Girls Can't Smile," "Chainsaw Anthem" and "Most People Just Die."
-the [two], wcr.

4:4:06 // Bassist Wanted

Joe Rosbury has quit Within Choking Range. We hope to remain friends and we wish him good luck in the future. That said, we are currently looking for a bassist meeting the following criteria:
  • Has a job
  • Has a car
  • Has their own gear
  • Digs our sound
  • Likes to play shows, frequently
  • Lives locally
  • And can practice 2-3 times per week

If you're interested please contact us at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from potential candidates and don't worry, we will not be cancelling any of our posted shows. We love all of you and thanks.
-Dad, Two, Steve, Mike. WCR.

3:24:06 // Through Your Walls

It's a busy weekend for us. Tonight we're playing at the Lucky Dog in Worcester MA w/ our friends in Screams of Erida and Samara. Tomorrow, we are doing the primary shooting for our video of "Chainsaw Anthem." We are actually seeking extras to help us break a ton of shit, so if that sounds like something you're into, hit us up through the proper channels. Also, pick up this month's Nomasonha to check out a live review from when we played with Hell Within last January. -Mark [two].

3:10:06 // Compound Fractures

New shows added. Live videos from our last show @ the Compound have been posted here (thanks DiNitwit). One of them is a new song called "Blanket Party Wakeup Call." We are still in the planning stages of creating a music video for "Chainsaw Anthem," but we expect to start shooting soon. Come to a show near you to hear our new music if you haven't already. Mark [two].

2:19:06 // Press Kit & a Review

WCR now has an electronic press kit up at sonicbids.com/withinchokingrange. Also, the good folks at DarcSystems posted a positive review for us... Check it out here. We're still putting together more shows, and writing new songs, so check back soon. -Mark [TWO].

2:16:06 // Within Choking Video

We begin shooting for our first video the second week of March. The song we've selected is "Chainsaw Anthem," and it will be directed by Chuck Rudolph, a film/video student at Fitchburg State College. Don't worry, we're not going all MTV... We're going to eventually post it on our site and our MySpace so that people who wouldn't otherwise have a chance to see us will get a feel for what we're about. "Chainsaw Anthem" is the first single off our debut EP, "Most People Just Die," which is still for sale. We're also currently booking shows for Spring-Summer '06, and we've got some good ones lined up already. Check back frequently to see what we've got going on. -Mark [TWO].

2:10:06 // More shows and More Songs

Basically, that's it. We're still waiting for some info about the Coyote Ugly show in Boston, hopefully that'll come through soon. Other than that, we've confirmed a show at the Lucky Dog on the 24th of March (w/ WNR) and one in RI w/ Acariya + the Departed. There's also a possible festival performance in our future. By the way, we've been writing a lot lately, I'll tell you that our newest song is called "Die Hard with a Vengeance." Wait till you fucking hear it. -Mark [TWO].

2:1:06 // In the Lab

I haven't updated in awhile since we've busy working on some new shit. We wrote two new songs: "Blanket Party Wakeup Call" and "Dead Girls Can't Smile." Our new songs are going in a heavier direction, we think you'll probably dig it. You can expect to hear them soon if you haven't already at a show. On a random note, we're actually going to be shooting a video for "Chainsaw Anthem" in the next month or so. We'll let you know a little more about that soon. We're playing this Friday. Leominster... be there for some old fashioned "sweunes." -Mark [TWO].

1:8:06 // Site Updates and Junk

Thanks to everyone who came to see us in Chelmsford, we had a lot of fun. I've updated some sections on the website, including some new shows, brand new lyrics, a band section, and the WCR store. Photos and videos are coming soon. In fact, DiNitwit had been compiling a lot of footage of shows of ours, which may be released in some format in the future, so keep an eye out for that. One last thing, Interpunk will be carrying our CD in the near future if you want to pick one up... or just buy it thru PayPal off our website. -Mark [TWO].

12:29:05 // Hell Within Choking Range

2005 just kinda flew by, huh? It's been busy for us, and 2006 looks to be even busier. We just added some new shows. Our next one is going to be big, we're going to be opening for HELL WITHIN at Reflections in Chelmsford. We could use the support... that, and we enjoy your company, too. -Mark [TWO].

12:20:05 // Site Overhaul

As you probably noticed, the site has changed its look significantly. Each link works correctly now (except for the "band" section). Keep checking back for updates as we're back under construction again. Oh, by the way, our CD makes a pretty good Christmas gift, haha... Happy Holidays, everybody. -Mark [TWO].

11:18:05 // Most People Just Die Released

At long last, our debut EP "Most People Just Die," is available today for just five bucks! For MA locals, pick it up at one of our upcoming shows. For everybody else, be patient, we're going to find a secure way to sell them online. Look for a complete website overhaul in the coming weeks with new media and updated merch, etc. We have new shows lined up for January and February, including one where we'll be opening for Hell Within. -Mark[TWO].

11:12:05 - We have been added to the Sayonara Summer Festival. Please see the shows section, this one is gonna be big. Don't forget our CD release show is this Friday! -Mark[TWO]

11:09:05 - Nine more days until Most People Just Die comes out, make sure you're at the CD release show, since it will only be available from us for the first few weeks it's out. There has been some confusion in regards to the show on December 9... Just to clear that up, on Dec. 9, we will be playing at Club Drifters in Nashua, NH w/ Of the Betrayed, When Legends Die and a few other bands TBA. -Mark[TWO]

11:02:05 - The Deer Club show in Gardner has been cancelled.

10:31:05 - "Most People Just Die" will be released at our show on 11/18/05. It will be available online shortly thereafter. Happy Halloween. -wcr.

10:26:05 - Added more shows. The final tracks for "Most People Just Die" are being mastered this Friday, then the entire package will immediately be sent to pressing.

10:15:05 - The show on Nov. 19 has been cancelled. We've added a show for Dec. 9 in Worcester. The CD will be out before the end of the year. -Shaps.

09:20:05 - Updated shows, press, discography and lyrics (includes words to the two newest WCR songs). -Shaps.

09:18:05 - If you're in Fitchburg today, there's a good chance you're at Locobazooka right now, and we hope you have a good time. Currently, there are people handing out 1,000 copies of the new compilation we're featured on, Building a Better Scene Vol. 2 for free if you're at Loco (the band also has 50 copies of our own to give out at the next couple shows). Also, Joe and Steve are there handing out flyers and watching some bands, so say hi to them if you see them. -Shaps.

09:17:05 - The show at The Compound has been canceled due to national booking conflicts. New Form of Torture and Skulltoboggan are trying to rent a hall in the Worcester area for the same night and with the same bands. This show will be all ages and it will be good, stay tuned for updates, and hope to see you there. -Dad.

08:27:05 - The last two shows have been a lot of fun, thanks to all the bands we've played with and kids who've come out to see us this summer. Without your support, we'd only hear **crickets** at all of our shows. As you may already know, WCR will be taking a short break for awhile, so check back soon to see what we've got coming up for the fall. -Shaps.

08:24:05 - We have only two shows left for this summer... We're playing with some really good bands including Screams of Erida and Ligeia among others. Check the shows section for full details. We are beginning to plan our CD release, and when the time is right we will let you know. Thank you all very much. -Shaps.

08:16:05 - Within Choking Range will be featured on the upcoming Building a Better Scene compilation. The song we've chosen to use is Unheard. According to Adam from Mongrel, "its a 2 volume compilation (one more punk disc/ one metal disc) that there will be 2,000 copies being made of. 1,000 of which will be distributed for the bands at locobazooka and/or the new england punk/goth/metal festival." We have a goth festival? Anyway, come to the wet T-shirt contest at the Compound this Saturday. -Shaps

09:09:05 - www.withinchokingrange.com is under construction once again in preparation for the release of our first EP, "Most People Just Die." Check out the new look and keep an eye peeled as we overhaul the site and certain features. Keep 'em hard, people. -Shaps.

08:10:05 - Thank you to everybody who came out to the Lucky Dog last night, as well as Life In Vain, The Bloodening, and also thanks to our new friends in Hand to Hand and Loss For Words. Sorry to anybody who wanted to see us in Saugus, that thing kinda fell apart last minute. We've got three more shows this summer, and that's it, so please come and check us out. After that, we'll be working on trying to get our CD pressed, as well as write some new songs. -Shaps.

08:03:05 - 2 and Ankle are sitting here bezerked in Cape Cod. We're workin' on some new stuff, including the new track you can download off myspace, Chainsaw Anthem. The CD got mastered today by Nick Z at New Alliance, we think it sounds pretty sick, and hopefully you will too. We'll tell you when it's finished being pressed as soon as we find out. Thanks to anybody who came out to any of the shows or parties. Heeeey, Fitchburg Police Department. - Ankle, 2.

07:29:05 - Updated shows. This Tuesday, Nick Zampiello will be mastering our upcoming EP, "Most People Just Die." We will post another new song on our MySpace shortly thereafter. Please come to one of our many shows this week or at least the party we're throwing on Saturday. -Shaps.

07:26:05 - Updated shows and press. We spent some time over the weekend as the #1 most viewed unsigned Hardcore band from Massachusetts on MySpace.com. Thanks to everybody who's been lurkin' us out. Keep spreading the word. -Shaps.

07:18:05 - Unfortunately, the Skatepark benefit show has been cancelled due to city regulations, and some pretty steep expenses. Check our shows though, we've added a couple, including a show on August 1 w/ Burn In Silence and another on August 8 w/ Loss For Words. -Shaps.

07:17:05 - On July 25th, we are scheduled to appear on g-vegas jams , a radio show in gardner on 99.9 "the eagle" . We're being interviewed, they are playing our cd and we are playing an acoustic set per order of the director of the show. - Joe Maxim III.

07:02:05 - DROPPIN' NAMES: We just added a bunch of shows. As you know, we're done recording our EP... and if you know that, you'd know it was produced by Ken Susi of Unearth (Invocation of Nehek, Ligeia) and DiNitwit (Cryptonym, Lot 54), both of whom deserve our thanks for their hard work. You might not know that it will be mastered on August 2nd by Nick Zampiello (Isis, Screams of Erida). We are currently searching for interested record labels. Here is the official tracklisting for Most People Just Die:

1. Hangman
2. Unheard
3. Chainsaw Anthem
4. In Darkness I Wait
5. The Science of Violence
6. Most People Just Die

-Shaps.

06:29:05 - Here's some kinda random news. I was surfing around today and I happened to check the newly re-vamped LeftoverCrack.com when I noticed a familiar picture... They published a photo I took of Stza (wearing a Satan mask) in 2001 as part of all of their main pages!

Fuck yeah, LoC fuckin' rules, and I'm honored by the fact that a band I have so much respect for published my work. Anyway, in WCR news, not much new has happened since we finished the CD... We're still waiting to have it mastered, and in the meantime, I updated the lyrics page. -Shaps.

06:27:05 - Due to some Elks Lodge drama beyond anybody's control, our "Scuba Core Beach Party" has been cancelled and/or postponed indefinitely. That, and they don't like "rowdy crowds." Lame. -Shaps.

06:26:05 - The CD is DONE, motherfuckers!!! Yes, you read correctly. Most People Just Die, our (6-song) debut EP is in the post production phases as we speak. It was engineered and mixed by Ken Susi at System Recordings in Grafton, with two additional tracks recorded in our very own jam room in Fitchburg by DiNitwit. When the shit's mastered, we plan on putting a brand new song on our myspace for all of you to check out. We've had an OVERWHELMING response from everybody who's had the opportunity to hear it so far, so thank you all very much to everyone who has helped or supported us over the past year. -Shaps.

06:20:05 - RECORDING UPDATE #3: The boys just called me on the ol' mobile cellular sonic phone to let me know that the drum tracks and both guitars tracks are finished. Tomorrow, Joe and I will going in to wrap this beast up: Joe will lay down his bass tracks and we'll both be banging out some vocals. All of the material still needs to be mixed/mastered, so in the meantime, go to our myspace to hear a rough mix of In Darkness I Wait, one of the tracks we did with DiNitwit. - Shaps

06:14:05 - RECORDING UPDATE #2: It's official; the band will be going in to record the first drum and scratch tracks later in the week with Ken Susi. We will be doing four tracks with him, including the brand new title track off our EP, "Most People Just Die." To be truthful, we're all really excited to have such an opportunity, and we look forward to people getting to hear our new material. It might be awhile, but keep checking back for updates, we've been really busy lately! - Shaps.

06:13:05 - Another quick update, we've got some more shows coming up including Beat Down Fest in July. We'll be playing the Compound on June 23, and on June 25, we will be playing at Club 125 in Bradford... We need some support on this gig, if we get a good turnout, you'll see us opening for some national acts you have most likely heard of in the near future... Anyway, I'm not 100% but I believe that With No Remorse and Pound of Flesh have been added for June 23rd. That is all. -Shaps.... (PS: I updated the pictures section to include everything we got from April to the present.)

06:12:05 - RECORDING UPDATE #1: WCR finished laying down our tracks with DiNitwit today. Some recording highlights include mysterious malfunctioning amplifiers, random vanishing band members, and one hell of a hangover... so thanks for putting up with us, DiNitwit! So now we have a rough mix of two songs, and we're going to start scheduling recording our last songs with one of two possible producers by the end of this month (or around that time period). Lastly, you can expect a new mp3 from the DiNitwit sessions to be posted when the tracks have been mixed down. Peace. -Shaps.

06:08:05 - New shows added. Recording begins tomorrow with DiNitwit at the boards. -wcr.

05:31:05 - Hello, all. We are proud to announce that we will begin recording our debut EP, "Most People Just Die" in about two weeks time (at least that's what Ken tells us), and the album art is currently being developed by yours truly (check out our myspace for a peek at the cover art). The guys have been working really hard lately to tighten up the new shit, and hopefully there will be a few surprises on the new disc that all of you will enjoy. We also have a few summer shows posted, but we're not playing out as much lately due to the focus on writing/recording. Thank you so much for your continued support and keep checking back for recording updates. - Shaps.

05:17:05 - Due to a scheduling conflict, we will be unable to play the aforementioned VFW show in N. Brookfield (May 28). We are genuinely bummed we can't play, and we still advise that if you can make it to this show, you should definitely go and support the other bands. In other news, our name has been dropped in a couple recent reviews and interviews... BT mentions us in his review, "Bay State Bands on the Rise," on www.darcsystems.com... In addition, we were also briefly mentioned in a recent interview with Screams of Erida's Jason Middleton (featured on www.fyourband.com). Thanks for the love! -Shaps.

05:14:05 - Added another ALL AGES show on May 28 at the N. Brookfield VFW. Blistered Earth will be headlining the show on June 2... nothing short of an all-star cast. - Shaps.

05:09:05 - Life In Vain has been added to the bill for June 2. Rock. - Shaps

05:08:05 - A big thank you to J and everybody in Screams of Erida, as well as Heathen Entertainment for hooking up a sweet show last night. We all had a good time at Goodtimes, despite the fact that everyone in our band got lost on the way to and from the venue. As usual, thanks to everyone who came out to see us. - Shaps.

05:06:05 - As you can see, 2 and I have done some renovating to the site. There still may be some broken links, missing items, etc., so please bear with us as we wrap this new site up. We just finished writing a new song last night called "Most People Just Die" and it's a goodie; we can't wait to play this one for you guys. Please go to our next show. Thanks everyone. - Dad

05:04:05 - New shows added thanks to our friends in Screams of Erida and With No Remorse. Check the shows section for details. Hope to see some of you there. - Dad

05:02:05 - This month marks Within Choking Range's first birthday. Happy birthday, WCR (even though I have no idea what day we started). Just thought you'd find that interesting. We have new photos thanks to Jay and Ed at www.darcsystems.com. - Shaps

04:30:05 - Okay, I hate when things like this happen. Our apologies to anyone who came to Ralph's Diner and expected to see us perform. We did show up, but upon our arrival we were treated harshly and with disrespect until there was no choice but to leave (we were being threatened to be kicked off the bill anyway, so there wasn't much we could do.) We were only trying to fill in for some other band that dropped off the bill anyway. I'd personally like to stress that we haven't missed a gig yet, and there wasn't a lot we could do to change this. Anyway, we'd like to thank Wreckoning, because for our trouble, they're hooking us up with a gig in June that's part of a WAAF event at the Lucky Dog... So, in closing, fuck Ralph and his diner, thanks again to anyone who came out last night, and we'll keep you posted on our upcoming record.
With fury,
-Shaps.

04:29:05 - Thank you to Throwing Shrapnel, The Bloodening, and Pound of Flesh for playing a show with us last night. We especially want to thank everyone who came out in support last night, you guys are the reason we do this in the first place. Don't forget that we have a show at Ralph's Diner in Worcester tonight. Thanks again to all of last night's participants. - Dad

04:26:05 - We've added another show that will be this Friday, 4/29/05, at Ralph's Diner in Worcester. For more details check out the shows page. - Dad

04:23:05 - We'd like to thank Neverending, Burn Me Down and In This Light for making it possible for us to play on the Cape, we had a good time, and from the looks of it, so did everybody else. We've got one last show next Thursday before it's time to go into hiding for a little while and finish writing the material for our EP. In the meantime, we'll be down in the jam spot with a paintbrush, a broom and a bucket for some much needed renovations.

04:22:05 - Updated PHOTO once again, now pics from the Lucky Dog are up. I'm just waiting on a couple more pics from other shows to post them. If you're on Cape Cod today, come out and represent WCR at the Juice Bar tonight. Peace. - Shaps.

04:18:05 - The PHOTO section has been updated with pics from March 31st at the Compound. There should be more pictures on the way in the coming weeks. We also are trying to work on some new songs, new concept artwork for the EP/website, and even some new T-Shirt designs. Please come to our shows in Cape Cod on the 22nd and in Fitchburg on the 28th, it'll be your last chance for awhile... One last thing, if you haven't heard The Bloodening's new demo yet, you're only cheating yourself. The 28th will be their CD release, I think... -Shaps.

04:16:05 - As usual, thank you to everyone who came out to the shows this week, big ups to the guys in Dead By Dawn, Obsidian Halo, and Burden of Liberty, we had a lot of fun the past couple days. Next Friday is the big Cape show at the Orleans Juice Bar, anybody who knows what's up can find out where the after party is for that one. My cape people, that means you too. We have two more shows this month before we take a well-deserved vacation, so we hope to see you guys headbanging and moshing with us in the next couple weeks. - Shaps.

04:14:05 - We've just been informed that the "Punk BBQ" show on Saturday, April 16 has been cancelled. Please don't go to it. Thanks. - Within Choking Range

04:11:05 - Oh, snap! Check out our shows section, we added a couple new ones THIS WEEK!! Our next shows will be this Wednesday at the Compound, Friday at the Lucky Dog in Worcester and Saturday at a house party in Winchendon. -Shaps.

04:07:05 - Ah, it's nice to have the internet back. That means there'll be a whole bunch of updates coming your way, and I'm pretty sure we're gonna give the site a facelift for the new EP. In the meantime, you can listen to our new song, "Hangman" in the media section recorded live at the Compound on the 31st, as well as check out the "Science of Violence" video clip from that night. More pictures and videos coming soon, too. Don't forget to come to the Compound next Wednesday and see us play a show w/ Klownfight. -Shaps.

04:04:05 - Thanks to everyone who came out to our shows at The Compound and Harper's Ferry, especially BT and Goldberg who made the trek all the way to Allston on Sunday. We have 3 shows left before we go into the studio to record our 4-song EP, so come out and catch one, you won't be sorry. Audio/Video for new song "Hangman" and pics from our 3/31 show are coming soon.
- Dad

03:05:05 - New shows announced. Check the shows section. Next one's at the Battle of the Bands on March 9. - Shaps.

03:28:05 - Check the shows page for a few additions, including a show this Sunday, April 3rd at Harper's Ferry in Allston, MA at 12 Noon. Expect to see more shows added soon. Hope to see you all at The Compound this Thursday, 3/31 at 9pm, FREE, 21+. There are also several additions to the WCR dictionary. - Dad

03:10:05 - WCR would like to thank everyone who came out to support us last night. We've already got pictures and a video clip in the photo and media sections, respectively. - Shaps.

03:04:05 - It's early Friday AM, and I'm just putting the finishing touches on our newest little "ghetto" demo called "The Science of Violence." It's just a little deal on 4-track we did ourselves as a pre-production demo. We probably won't be selling these or anything but at least you'll be able to hear something new. Check out the updated MEDIA section to hear our newest song, "Chainsaw Anthem." Thanks, and be sure to sign the guestbook or something, tell us what you think. (Unless, of course, you think we suck in which case you can fist yourself.) Don't forget about the battle March 9. - Shaps.

03:02:05 - I talked to Ken today on the phone, our new demo is still going to happen, we're just going to push it back until May when Unearth gets back from Japan and Australia (by the way, go see Unearth this Saturday in Worcester if you get the chance!). Updated band pics, photo, and links, as well as added a new video clip and a bunch of really terrible sounding live mp3's/clips from various points in our short career (mostly newer songs). **tumbleweeds** Anyway, come watch hell break loose for fifteen minutes next Wednesday as Within Choking Range tears WXPL's Battle of the Bands a new one. -shaps.

02:28:05 - Still waiting on some new mp3's, let's call it techincal difficulties... Again, please come to the Battle of the Bands at the college (MARCH 9 @ 7PM), it IS free, at least. Come out and support your favorite dysfunctional family of a band. Here is an updated flyer for both our gigs this March. -Shaps... HA-SLO-KEN!!

02:22:05 - Our performance at this year's Battle of the Bands at FSC will be on March 9. It's a free show, so might you as well come on down and hear the new songs. Speaking of, I think we're going to be recording a DIY pre-production demo of some sort in the next week or so. A "pre-EP?" That means that there should be new mp3's coming soon too. Hey, look, I'm the drunk of the week. - Shaps.

02:09:05 - (repost/revision):
1. Within Choking Range will be going into the studio in April to record a brand new 4-song EP. It will be produced by none other than Ken Susi of Unearth, who has recently produced bands such as Ligeia, Screams of Erida and Invocation of Nehek to name a few.

2. Eric Croteau will no longer be performing in Within Choking Range. The split is mutual, and there is no bad blood on either side. We welcome Joe Rosbury as the newest addition to our dysfunctional family. The new official lineup of Within Choking Range is:

Mark Belliveau - guitar
Steve Hall - guitar
Mike Allen - drums
Joe Rosbury - bass
Mark Shapiro - vocals

We thank you for your continued support.
~Shaps, WCR.

02:06:05 - First off, it's Super Bowl Sunday, so go Patriots! Within Choking Range would like to thank all of our friends and fans for coming to see us yesterday, and especially thanks The Bloodening, Life In Vain and Ligeia for coming all the way out and making the best out of the situation. (BTW, congrats to Ligeia for just getting signed to Ferret Records!)... other than that, we have some major announcements to make:

1. Within Choking Range will be going into the studio in April to record a brand new 4-song EP tentatively titled, "The Science of Violence." It will be produced by none other than Ken Susi of Unearth, who has recently produced bands such as Ligeia, Screams of Erida and Invocation of Nehek to name a few.

2. Eric Croteau will no longer be performing in Within Choking Range. The split is mutual, and there is no bad blood on either side. Steve Hall will be taking over second guitar, and a new bassist will be announced in the coming weeks. WCR thanks its friends and fans for bearing with us in the past few tumultuous months, and we look forward to rockin' on a larger scale in the future! See you at the Battle of the Bands March 9. ~Shaps.

02:02:05 - NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED in the shows section, including the Fitchburg State Battle of the Bands on March 9. I think it's safe to say everyone in the band is excited for the show on Saturday, you should be, too. Talk to somebody in the band for a ticket, we could use the support. In fact, if there's a good response for this show, there's a good chance that we'll be able to book more all ages shows there. 2005 is going to be a big year for this band hopefully... expect some big news soon, that's all I'm saying. - Shaps.

01:31:05 - I was driving down Bemis Rd. yesterday, and I noticed that the Sound Garden closed down... :( They were selling our CD's for awhile, too. Anyway, with them down, the only way to get our CD is via email or at a show. As of today, we only have 20 copies left of our 2004 demo, and we don't plan on making any more. So basically, get them while you can. ~Shaps.

01:27:05 - Not that I know who they are, but the band, "Cities" will NOT be playing the gig on the 5th. ~Shaps.

01:26:05 - Ligeia (who recently recorded with Ken Susi) have joined the bill for February 5th. Now, you absolutely must go. Spread the word, these guys are really good, as are all of the bands performing that day, you really gotta check this shit out. You'll get your money's worth in moshpits. Also anybody who wants to hear a rough version of one of the new WCR songs, check out the media section for a video from band practice yesterday. The song is called "Unheard," it's in both .wmv and quicktime files this time. Patience people, the new CD's coming... ~ Shaps.

01:24:05 - The weather fucking sucks here. It seriously sucks. So, on a snowed in day like today, you can kill some time by heading over to our media section, you'll see some of Mike's drunken beatboxing from last Friday. Also, we're introducing the "Drunk of the Week" pics to make each other look like complete assholes. YOU COULD BE NEXT!!! So, enjoy. Oh, and go to our show. ~ Shaps/Anklet Team 47

01:14:05 - The bands are confirmed for February 5th, we'll be performing with Life In Vain, The Bloodening and Cities. Click here for a flyer you can download. It's got "Rick James" on it, bitches. ~ 2.

01:11:05 - Hello, 2005. We have our setlist more or less prepared for our first show back with Mike on drums (Feb. 5 @ Jarrod's). We're still waiting for the final word on the bands we'll be playing with that afternoon. We've also decided to push our recording back to February or March. Check back soon for more info on that show and maybe a flyer or something. ~ 2.

12:21:04 - WCR played its second to last practice of 2004 tonight, and 2005 already looks like it's gonna be busy for these assholes. We've been tightening up some songs and the boys have been jamming some heavier, faster tunes to go on the next recording (that's getting started next month). Anklet was also kind enough to take some new pics tonight. Check the band section, Mike's in there now too. Happy Holidays everybody, and wish me luck in Vegas! ya CUNTS! - Shaps.

12:16:04 - Welcome to Mike Allen as the new drummer of Within Choking Range. We're going to start recording some new shit in Mid-January. We're also going to be playing a lot of shows starting in February, but the only show confirmed so far is going to be at Jarrod's on February 5, I think we're playing with the Bloodening and some other friends of ours in local bands. Oh, and if you haven't heard the new shit, you're in for a kick in the teeth at our next show. - Shaps.

12:10:04 - As we are still waiting to recieve additional information regarding the incident, the metal community as a whole is still in shock from the news of Dimebag Darrel's brutal murder. As he has influenced our band as a whole, Within Choking Range plans to dedicate a portion of our upcoming live performances to his memory. In other news, although no official decisions have been made yet, WCR has been writing new material with Mike Allen (formerly of the Prozacs) on drums. We're really happy with the direction the new stuff is heading in, and we hope that our fans/audience will agree. Expect brutal, faster stuff from us in the coming months. In the meantime, the words to WCR's newest song, "The Science of Violence" can be found in the lyrics section. - Shaps.

11:29:04 - It's been a long time, I know... the band is still on hiatus, but has narrowed down the search for a drummer... nothing official yet. In other news, Eric was in New Jersey last weekend, and randomly hung out with Zakk Wylde. I'm really hoping to at least get a picture of that on here. Keep checking back, WCR will return! - Shaps.

11:10:04 - Check out the MERCH section for the new selection of WCR clothing (shirts, hoodies, girlie-T's and more). -Shaps.

11:06:04 - The search continues for a new drummer. Check the contacts section if you're interested. We also might be featured on an upcoming compilation, we'll keep you posted on that once (and if) we get a copy. Were you too busy watching the Red Sox win the World Series to come to the Shattered Dreams show? That's ok, if you need a good laugh, check out the media section for our unrehearsed attempt at the 'Rock n' Roll' song. Eventually, there will be a pictures section, I just haven't found a good way of posting them yet. Lastly, thanks to everyone who came to my 22nd birthday party. - Shaps.

10:23:04 - Salem is a seriously fucked up place around Halloween. There was some predator-looking-monster dancing in the street to Alvin & the Chipmunks, I guess you kind of had to be there. Anyway, thanks for everyone who did stick around to catch our late-ass set, we always have a good time at Sputnik's. As you may already know, Steve (Rat), our drummer, has decided to leave the band, and everyone in Within Choking Range wishes him luck in his future projects. Over the next month we're audtioning new drummers, so we'll be back in action in no time with a grip of new songs, a slight website overhaul, and a double bass pedal (finally). One more thing, keep checking the media section, I'll see if I can post a video of one of our songs we played tonight. -Shaps.

09:28:04 - Last night was a blast, WCR wants to thank Life In Vain and the Bloodening for showing up and playing awesome sets, as well all of our troublemaking friends who showed up to party with us. The Compound said they did pretty good for a Monday night, and they'll most likely have us all back, so thanks again to everyone for the good turnout! We'll see you next month for two shows the week before Halloween! Spooky! ~Shaps.

09:20:04 - Added band bio, discography, the new flyer for the 10/23 show, as well as fixed a few broken links. Take a minute and sign the guestbook, let us know what you think. ~ Shaps.

09:18:04 - The site has been updated as much as humanly possible. We have videos, mp3's, pics, and a slew of added shows. Take the reigns and navigate yourself through the site and enjoy! Keep your metal heavy and your horns up! - Poo

09:07:04 - Greetings from Fitchburg, MA. First implementation of the WCR site made today, like a bloody fetus writhing its way into the world. Since we're still under construction, please visit our site at HXCMP3.com to hear what we sound like. Check back soon for more. ~ Shaps.
